Speech of Maulana Sheikh Mohamed (ra) Hawlia 2019, Khartoum

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ By the name of Allah, the merciful, the compassionate

اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ عَلىَ نَوَالِ الْحَبِيبِ مُنَاهُ بِرِضَا مَوْلَاهُ، وَفَوْقَ الرِّضَا مُشِاهِدَةُ مَنِ اصْطِفَاهُ، وَتَرْحِيبُ أَهْلِ السَّمَا لَهُ فِى عُلَاهُ، فَسُبْحَانَ مَنْ بِالعَبْدِ سَمَّاهُ، وَرَضِى اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّنْ صَاحَبُوهُ فِى إِسْرَاءِهِ، أَبِى بَكْرٍ مَنْ طَلَبَ الصُّحْبَةَ، وَعَنِ الْفَارُوقِ عُمَرِ الَّذِي فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الظَّلْمَاءِ وَالضِّيَاءِ، وَعَنْ سَيَّدَنَا ذِى النُّوْرَينِ عُثْمَانُ وَصَاحِبُ الْحَيَاءِ فَسُبْحَانَ مَنْ حَيَّاهُ، وَعَنْ أَبِى الْحَسَنَينِ وَزَوْجُ الْبَتُولِ فَسُبْحَانَ مَنْ أَعْطَاهُ، وَآلِهِ الْكِرامِ لَهُم مِنَّا كُلُّ الْوِدِّ وَالثَّنَاءِ. The Praise is for Allah upon granting, the Beloved His desires, out of the satisfaction from His Lord. And above the satisfaction is the witnessing of The One Who had chosen him. And the reception of Him by the inhabitants of the high heaven in His ascend. So, glorified is He who named Him The Slave. And May the satisfaction of Allah Almighty be upon those who accompanied Him in his night journey, Abu Bakr, the one who requested the fellowship, and upon Al-Farouq Omar who made distinction between the darkness and the brightness. And upon our Master Osman, the possessor of the two lights and the owner of the shyness, so glorified is He who greeted him. And upon the father of Al-Hasnain and the life partner of Al-Batool, so, glorified is He who bestowed upon him, and upon his noble family is the entirety of the love and the praise from us.

أَمَّا بَعْدْ ... فَيَا أَحْبَابَ الْحَبِيبِ الْمُصْطَفَى ? And then…O Lovers of The Beloved Chosen One, Al-Mustafa ?.

يَقُولُ اَلْمَوْلَى الْكَرِيمِ ?وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَى? الضحى، فَكَانَ عَطَاءُ الْمَوْلَى لِحَبِيبِهِ حَتّى يَرضَى، وَهَذَا هُوَ مَعْنَى (اَلْحَبِيبِ) فِى أَبْهَى صُوَرِهِ، فَلَمَّا حَانَتِ الْإِسْرَا لَمْ تَكُنْ لِيُسرِى عَنْهُ، فَالْحَبِيبِ لَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى أَسْبَابِ لِيُسْرِى عَنْ حَبِيبِهِ، فَمَا بَالَكُمْ بِعَطَاءِ الْحَبِيبِ لِحَبِيْبِهِ ?. The Noble Lord says: And certainly He will give you until you are satisfied (Ad-Duhaa 93:5). So, the giving of the Lord to His beloved is until that he becomes satisfied. And this is the meaning of To be loved in the most gorgeous of illustrations of it. So, when the time of the night journey had approached it was not to remove any distress or sorrow from him, because The Lover never need any reasons (excuses) to remove distress or sadness from His beloved. So, what do you think about the magnitude of the givings from The Lover to His Beloved ?? وَأَمَّا الْإِسْرَاءُ فَهُوَ لِلْمُرِيدِ، فَهُوَ اَلسَّبَبُ فِى ترَقِّى الدَّرَجَاتِ وَعُلُوِّ الْمَقَامَاتِ وَلَا يَأْتِى إِلَّا لِسَلِيمِ الْوَجْهِ قَبْلَ الْمُجَاهِدَاتِ، وَأَسَاسُهَا اَلْعَقِيدَةُ فِى (الشَّيْخِ) فَهِىَ اَلْبَابُ الَّذِي بِوُرُودِهِ يُفتَحُ لَكَ اَلسَّبِيلُ إِلَى دُخُولِ طَّرِيقِ أَقَوَامٍ بَنُوْا عَلَى مَحْضِ الْيَقِينِ بِنَائَهُم، فَكَانَ نِعْمَ الْبَنَاءِ عَلَى خَيْرِ الْأَسَاسِ، فَسَارُوْا عَلَى دَرْبِ الْخُبَرَاءِ إِلَى أَنْ وَصَلُوا إِلَى مُنَاهُمْ.

As for the night journey then it is actually for the Mureed. The night journey is the mean to advance in ranks and reach higher positions, which would never come except for the one with a correct direction prior to his strivings. And the foundation of this is the correct conviction and creed in the Shaikh, because this is the door if you arrive to it, there will open for you a way to enter in a path of nations, whom had built their buildings upon pure conviction. So excellent are the buildings which are built upon perfect foundations. So, they travelled upon the route of the experts to arrive to their desired objectives.

وَكَانَتْ صُحْبَةُ الْحَبِيبِ الْمُصْطَفَى ? غَايةُ مُنَى اَلْواصِلينَ، وَدَوامُ مُشَاهَدَةِ الْوَجْهِ الْكَرِيمِ دُرّةُ الْعَارِفِينَ، فَرَاعُوا الْعُهودَ وَالْأمَانَاتِ وَحَافَظُوْا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ فَكَانَتْ لَهُمْ اَلْوِرَاثَةُ اِصطفاءً ومِنَّةً.

The fellowship of the beloved Mustafa ? was the desired aim for those connected and the permanent witnessing of The Noble Face (Real-Self of Allah) is a pearl of the gnostiscs. So, they watched over the pledges and the entrustments and they were persistent in doing prayers, so the inheritance was given to them out of a selection and as a giving.

فالْمُنَى صُحْبَةُ الْحَبِيبَ كَمَا طَلبَهَا اَلصَّدِيقُ (اَلصُّحْبَةْ اَلصُّحْبَةْ) وَنَالَهَا وَزَيَادَةً، بِمُشَاهِدَةِ وَجْهِ الْكَرِيمِ، فَالْكُمَّلْ مِنَ الْأَوْلِيَاءِ يَنَالُوْنَ صُحْبَةُ الْبَدْرِ اِقْتِفَاءً.

So, the desired aim is the fellowship of The Beloved ? just as As-Siddiq had requested when he said O Fellowship! O Fellowship!, so he achieved it and achieved in addition to it, the witnessing of The Noble Face. And those perfect among the Saints achieved the fellowship of The Full Moon ? by tracing it.

وقَدَّمَ الْحَبِيبُ حَبِيبَهُ لِيُصَلِّى إِمَاماً بِالْأَنْبَيَاءِ لِيُعْلِمَ مَنْ وَرَاءِهِمْ مَدَى لَطَافَةِ جَسَدِيَّةِ حَبِيبِهِ، فَهُمْ أَرْوَاحٌ وَحَبِيبُهُ مَازَالَ فِى عَالَمِ الْأَجْسَامِ.

The Lover put forth His "Beloved in front of all the prophets as Imam to lead the prayer, just to make it evident to those coming after them, the magnitude of subtleness of the material existence of His Beloved. Because they are all as souls, while His Beloved" is still in the universe of material existence by his body at this time.

وَبَعْدَ أَنْ نَالَ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ شَرَفَ اِسْتَقْبَالِ الْحَبِيبِ فَى أَرْضِ الْأَبْدَانِ، عَرَجُوا لِيَسْتَقْبَلُوهُ فِى سَمَاءِ الْأَرْوَاحِ، لِيَكْشِفَ لَهُمُ الْوُشَاحَ عَنْ بَعْضِ مَكَانَةِ لَاهُوتِ الْجَمَالِ وَنَاسُوتِ الْوِصَالِ.

After the prophets had achieved the honour of receiving The Beloved in the land of the bodies, they then ascended into the heaven of the souls to make another reception for him there, so that he could uncover for them the veil from some part of the rank of Laahut Al-Jamal (The secret of the divine beauty of His soul) and Nasut al-Wisal (The secret the true nature of His humanity).

وَإِذَا أَمْعَنْتَ النَظَرَ تَجِدُ أَنَّ رِحْلَةَ الْإِسْرَاءِ حَدَثَتْ فِى شَهْرِ الله الْحَرَامِ (رَجَبٌ) وَهَذَا الشَّهْرِ هُوَ الشَّهْرُ الَّذِي تَزَوَّجَ فِيْهِ وَالِدَيْ اَلْمُصْطَفَى ? حَيْثُ اِنْتَهَتْ رِحْلَةُ أَسْفَارِ اِنْتَقَالُ النُّطْفَةِ الطَّاهِرَةِ بَينَ الْأَصْلَابِ وَالْأَرْحَامِ حَتَّى اِسْتَقَرّتْ عِنْدَ السَّيِّدَةِ آمِنَةِ رِضْوَانُ الله تَعَالَى عَلَيْهَا فِى (رَجَبِ) الْفَرْدِ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا مُرْتَدِيَّةً أَلْطَفَ وأَشْرَفَ جَسَدِيَّةً، فِى أَوَّلِ (رَبِيعٍ) الذَّاتُ الْمُحَمَّدِيَّةُ وَهِيَ بِحَقٍّ الْلَطِيفَةُ الَّتِى أَتَتْ مِنَ غَيْبِ الْأَحَدِيَّةِ، فَكَانَتْ شَمْسُ سَّمَاءٍ لِكُلِّ الْأَسْرَارِ، وَمَظْهَراً لِكُلِّ الْأَنْوَارِ.

If you were to look carefully, you will find that the night journey of The Israa occurred in the holy month of Allah (Rajab). And this month is the month, when the parents of Mustafa ? got married and where the journey of the pure drop of semen ended by a transference between the spinal column and the uterus until it settled with Saida Amna (Ra) in the matchless month of (Rajab), then it exited to the world covered in a most subtle and most honourable body in the month of (Rabia-Al-Awal) as the Muhamadian Essence. And without any doubt this is the subtleness which had came from universe of The Unseen of the Singularity, so He was the Sun of the Heaven for all the secrets, and the outward appearance for all the divine lights.

وَكَانَ الْمِعْرَاجُ مُنَاجَاةً ووَحْياً وَرُؤْيةً، فَهَلْ كَانَتْ اْلْمُنَاجَاةُ لِجِبْرِيلَ؟ وَالْوَحْي مِنْ جِبْرِيلَ؟ وَالرُّؤْيَةُ لِجِبْرِيلَ؟ أَمْ كَانَتْ اَلْمُنَاجَاُة ???، وَالْوَحْي مِنَ الله، وَالرُّؤْيَةُ ???؟

The Maraaj (The Ascension to Heaven) was an intimate consultation, a revelation, and a witnessing by eye. So, was the intimate consultation for Gabriel? Was the revelation from Gabriel? Or was the witnessing by eye of Gabriel? Or was the intimate consultation for Allah, the revelation from Allah witnessing by eye of Allah? إِنَّ رَسَولَ الله ? وَصَلَ إِلَى أُفُقٍ لَمْ يَعُدْ فِيهِ مَكَاناً لِجِبْرِيلَ، وَارْتَقَى لِمُسْتَوَى مِنَ النُّورِ وَدَرَجَةً مِنَ الْقُرْبِ وَالْحُضُورِ اِسْتَحَالَ مَعْهَا اِرْتَقَاءُ أَىِّ مَلَكٍ مُقَرَّبٍ أَوْ نَبِىٍّ مُرْسَلٍ إِلَى هَذَا الْاِرْتَقَاءِ:

The Messenger of Allah ? reached towards a horizon where there never had been a place for Gabriel, and He rose to a level of light and a degree of nearness and presence, which was ever impossible for any closest Angel or any prophet messenger to rise towards this level of ascension:

Qasida 28:26 قَدِ

Since the level of His ascension was impossible to reach by anyone… He came down out of His assistance, while He is watering our Heights

فَكَانَ لِلْحَبِيبِ عَلَيْهِ أَفْضَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ وَأَزْكَى التَّسْلِيمَاتِ الْمَكَانَةُ الزُلْفَى فحَقَّتْ لَهُ اَلْمُنَاجَاةُ وَالوَحْيُ وَالرُّؤْيَةُ دُونَ وَاسَطَةٍ أو حِجَابٍ، وَكَانَ هُوَ الْوَاسِطَةَ الْكُبْرَى وَالْحِجَابَ الْأَعْظَمَ، مَنْ بِهِ تَعرَّفَ الْخَلْقُ عَلَى الْحَقِّ، فَصَلِّ اللَّهُمَّ بِهِ مِنْهُ فِيْهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمْ.

So, the nearest place had always been for The beloved upon whom are the best prayers and the highest greetings, so he was certainly entitled of the intimate dialog, the revelation and the eye-witnessing directly without any kind of intermediary or any cover, while it was always He who had been the greatest intermediary and The Greatest Cover, and by whom the creation was introduced to The Divine Reality. O' Allah! Send prayers and peace greetings with Him, from Him, in Him, upon Him.

لَمْ تَقِفْ تِلْكَ الْمَرتَبَةَ لِلْحَبِيبِ فَحَسْب .. وَلَكِنْ مِنْ كَرَمِ الْكِرَيمِ أَنْ جَعَلَهَا فِى خُلَفَاءِهِ وَوَرَثَتِهِ، وَيُشِيرُ إِلَيْهَا صَاحِبُ الْبَحْرِ الْمَدِيدِ فِى تَفْسِيرِ آيَةِ الرِّضَا مِنَ (الضُّحَى) فَيَقُولُ:

And this rank has not been limited for The Beloved only. But it is out of the generosity of The Generous that He has transferred it into His successors and His inheritors. The author of Al-Bahr Al-Madid (saying from Imam Qusheiri by Sd. ibn Ajeeba) refers to it in the commentary of the Aya of satisfaction in Surah Ad-Duhaa (Surah Ad-Duhaa, 93:5) when he says:
